Note: Refers to the style and period that coincided with the rule of Murad I, son of Orhan, 1362 to 1389. During this period some new mosques were constructed at Bursa and the sultan is recorded as having employed Christian workmen. In 1366, Murad I began the construction of a kulliye, or charitable complex. It consisted of mosque-madras, a thermal bath of Byzantine origin, a large soup kitchen, and a school. Completed in 1385, the mosque was of the cross-axial form with four chambers, two of them having large fireplaces to shelter visiting dervishes. Under the central dome, stood a fountain for ritual ablutions before the raised mosque section. A unique feature of this building is the octagonal domed chamber over the mihrab, the niche in a mosque wall indicating the direction of Mecca.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de stijl en periode die samenvielen met de heerschappij van Moerad I, zoon van Orhan, van 1362 tot 1389. Gedurende deze periode werd een aantal nieuwe moskeeën gebouwd bij Bursa, waarbij de sultan naar verluidt christelijke arbeiders zou hebben ingezet. In 1366 begon Moerad I aan de bouw van een kulliye, een gebouwencomplex met een moskee, Byzantijnse thermen, een grote soepkeuken en een school. De moskee werd voltooid in 1385 en had een kruisvorm met vier ruimten, met in twee daarvan een grote haard voor het comfort van de bezoekende derwisjen. Onder de centrale koepel bevond zich een fontein voor het wasritueel, vóór het verhoogde moskeegedeelte. Een uniek kenmerk van dit gebouw is de achthoekige koepel boven de mihrab, de nis in de muur van de moskee die de richting van Mekka aangeeft. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere al estilo y periodo que coinciden con el gobierno de Murad I, hijo de Orjan, 1362-1389. Durante este periodo se construyeron algunas mezquitas nuevas en Bursa y el sultán es recordado por haber empleado obreros cristianos. En 1336 Murad I inició la construcción de un kulliye o complejo para la caridad. Este consistía en una mezquita-madras (lugar de estudio), baño termal de origen bizantino, una gran cocina para la cocción de sopa y una escuela. Ésta se completó en 1385 y consistía en un eje en cruz con cuatro cámaras, dos de las cuales poseen amplios hogares para resguardar la visita de derviches. Bajo la cúpula central se ubicaba la fuente para rituales ablutorios, ante el sector de la mezquita con relieves. Una característica única de este edificio corresponde a la cámara cupulada octogonal sobre el mihrab, el nicho ubicado en el paramento de la mezquita indica la dirección a La Mecca. |
