Note: Refers to the art and architecture associated with the Islamic dynasty of this name that ruled in Morocco from 789 to 985; it was the first Islamic dynasty to establish an independent state in Morocco and played an important role in making Morocco an Islamic country. Islamic urban culture began to make its appearance in Morocco during the Idrisid period. Idris I, a descendant of Muhammad, founded the dynasty as well as the city of Fès. Fès became the capital during the reign of his son, Idris II, and flourished as a trade, religious and intellectual center under Idris II's patronage. The Idrisids were responsible for the layout of the old city center and the division of the city into two distinct areas (the Kairouanis and the Andalusians) separated by the River Fas. Unfortunately, physical remains from the period are limited. The Idrisids built what is now the Qarawiyyin Mosque in Fès but only its core preserves Idrisid elements. The tomb of Idris I at Moulay Idris near Volubilis (made the capital of Idris I after 788) and that of Idris II in Fès are considered the holiest shrines in Morocco; both tombs were completely rebuilt in the 18th century.

Verwijst naar de kunst en architectuur die is verbonden met de islamitische dynastie met deze naam die heerste in Marokko van 789 tot 985; de Idrisidische dynastie was de eerste islamitische dynastie die een onafhankelijke staat vestigde in Marokko en speelde een belangrijke rol bij de islamisering van Marokko. Islamitische stedelijke cultuur verscheen in Marokko gedurende de Idrisidische periode. Idris I, een afstammeling van Mohammed, stichtte de dynastie en ook de stad Fez. Fez werd de hoofdstad tijdens de heerschappij van zijn zoon, Idris II, en floreerde als een handelscentrum en als een religieus en intellectueel centrum onder het patronaat van Idris II. De Idrisids waren verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp van het oude stadscentrum en de verdeling van de stad in twee afzonderlijke gebieden (voor de Kairouani's en de Andalusiërs), gescheiden door de rivier Fas. Helaas zijn fysieke overblijfselen uit deze periode beperkt. De Idrisids bouwden in Fez wat nu de Qarawiyyin-moskee is, maar alleen in de kern ervan zijn Idrisid-elementen bewaard gebleven. Se refiere al arte y arquitectura asociados a la dinastía islámica de mismo nombre que gobernó Marruecos desde el año 789 al 985; correspondió a la primera dinastía islámica que estableció un estado independiente en Marruecos y jugó un importante rol en conformar Marruecos como un país islámico. La cultura islámica urbana hace su aparición en Marruecos durante el periodo Idrisida. Idris I, un descendiente de Mahoma, fundó la dinastía, así como la ciudad de Fès. Fès se transformó en la capital durante el reinado de su hijo, Idris II y floreció como centro de comercio, religioso e intelectural durante el patronaje bajo Idris II. Los Idrisida fueron los responsables del diseño del antiguo centro de la ciudad y de la división de la ciudad en dos áreas distintivas (Kairuán y Andalucía), separados por el río Fas. Desafortunadamente, existe pocos restos físicos del período. Los Idrisida construyeron la mezquita conocida hoy en día como Mezquita Qarawiyyin, en Fès, sin embargo sólo se preservan elementos de su centro.
