Note: Refers to a distinctive style of architecture that developed in the mid-13th century under the Plantagenet English kings' rule in the Loire Valley. The style is notable for remaining outside the mainstream of French stylistic development. It is characterized by some retention of the earlier local Romanesque idioms, evident in ecclesiastical buildings by the extremely curved, dome-shaped cross-ribbed vaults, numerous round arches, powerful, though slender, piers, and often the incorporation of three naves of approximately equal height and width.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een typische stijl in de architectuur die zich onder de heerschappij van het Engelse koningshuis Plantagenet ontwikkelde in de Loirevallei in het midden van de 13de eeuw. Opvallend is dat de stijl buiten de belangrijkste Franse stilistische ontwikkelingen bleef. De stijl kenmerkt zich door een gedeeltelijk vasthouden aan het vroegere lokale romaanse idioom, zoals in de kerkelijke bouwkunst tot uiting komt in extreem gebogen koepelvormige kruisgewelven, vele ronde bogen, robuuste maar slanke pijlers en het gebruik van drie schepen van ongeveer dezelfde hoogte en breedte. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere a un estilo distintivo de arquitectura que se desarrolló a mediados del siglo XIII bajo el gobierno de los reyes ingleses Plantagenet en el Valle del Loire. El estilo es notable por permanecer fuera de la corriente principal de desarrollo estilístico francés. Se caracteriza por alguna retención de las expresiones Románicas locales más tempranas, evidente en edificios eclesiásticos por las bóvedas en cruz, en forma de domo, sumamente curvadas, numerosos arcos redondos, poderosos, aunque delgados, entreventanas y a menudo la incorporación de tres naves de aproximadamente la misma altura y ancho. |
