Note: The first commercially available acrylic paint. It was prepared from pigments suspended in a solution of n-butyl methacrylate resin and solvent, developed by Leonard Bocour and Sam Golden in the mid-1940s. Magna could be diluted with turpentine or mineral spirits, had a fast drying time. and could be combined with oil paints. It dried to a hard, matte film. Manufacture of this paint ended in the 1970s.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... De eerste commercieel verkrijgbare acrylverf. Deze werd bereid uit pigmenten die gesuspendeerd waren in een oplossing van n-butylmethacrylaathars en een oplosmiddel, en was eind jaren 1940 ontwikkeld door Leonard Bocour en Sam Golden. Magna kon met terpentijn of terpentine worden verdund, droogde snel en kon worden gecombineerd met olieverf. Na opdroging werd het een harde, matte laag. In de jaren zeventig werd de productie van deze verf gestaakt.
