Note: Mirrors made from polished obsidian, which is a dark, shiny glass formed in nature by the rapid cooling of lava. Such mirrors were used since Paleolithic times. In ancient Mesoamerica and elsewhere, they were often used as instruments of sorcery.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Spiegels gemaakt van gepolijst obsidiaan, een zwart, glanzend glas dat ontstaat wanneer lava snel afkoelt. Dergelijke spiegels werden sinds het paleolithicum gebruikt. In Midden-Amerika en andere regionen gebruikte men ze soms voor tovenarij.
