Dutch ..... Orde van 240.000 soorten insecten met één enkel vleugelpaar op de mesothorax en achtervleugels die zijn geëvolueerd in een paar halters op de metathorax. Insecten uit andere ordes met het woord ���vlieg' in hun naam (bijvoorbeeld de schorpioenvlieg) zijn geen echte vliegen.
