Note: A printing process in which tone is added to a major part of the print by sprinkling granulated salt on the ground while it is still hot and liquid. Once the plate is cold and the salt has been rinsed away, a random pattern of pits of varied depth is left behind and will create corresponding clusters of black dots on the resulting print.

| Dutch ..... Een drukprocedé waarbij kleurstof aan een groot deel van de afdruk wordt toegevoegd door zoutkristallen op de etsgrond te strooien terwijl deze nog heet en vloeibaar is. Wanneer de plaat is afgekoeld en het zout wordt weggespoeld, blijft een willekeurig putjespatroon van uiteenlopende diepte achter, wat overeenkomstige groepen zwarte puntjes op de betreffende afdruk oplevert. |
