Note: Refers to a style that was predominant in German-speaking regions in the 13th century in panel painting, wall painting, stained glass, and manuscript illuminations. The term comes from the German for "jagged style," and is characterized by its distinctive treatment of drapery, in which fabrics seem to have a nervous, living vitality and zig-zag or broken-fold forms.

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de meest invloedrijke stijl in de paneel-, muur- en glasschilderkunst en miniaturen in de Duitstalige gebieden van de 13de eeuw. De term is Duits voor ‘Tandenstijl’, en kenmerkt zich door een karakteristiek gebruik van draperie, waarin stoffen een nerveuze, levende vitaliteit lijken te hebben, en zigzag- of gebroken plooivormen. 
Spanish ..... Se refiere a un estilo que fue predominante en las regiones de habla alemana en el siglo XIII en pintura de paneles, murales, vidriera de colores, e ilustración de manuscritos. El término viene del alemán por "estilo dentado," y se caracteriza por su particular tratamiento de pañería en la que los tejidos parecen tener una vitalidad nerviosa, con vida y formas de pliegues quebrados o zig zag.
