Note: Spoons of teaspoon size having a bowl pierced in a decorative pattern and long handle with a pointed end. The bowls of mote spoons were used to strain tea and to skim leaf particles and dust motes from the surface of a cup of tea. The thin pointed handle was used to clear clogged spouts of pots. For spoons of similar size with pierced bowls but lacking pointed handles, used specifically to serve olives, use "olive spoons."

Chinese (traditional) ..... 外觀有如茶匙大小的匙具,盛物部分具有裝飾圖樣的孔隙,且長把手的末端為尖頭。有孔匙的盛物部份可供用來過濾茶湯及撇去茶水表面的小片茶葉與塵埃。尖細的把手則用來清潔堵塞的壺嘴。若是指稱尺寸類似,盛物部份穿孔,但沒有尖細把手的匙具,專門用來盛裝橄欖油者,則使用「橄欖油匙」。 
Dutch ..... Lepels ter grootte van theelepels met een kom met gaatjes in een decoratief patroon. Daarnaast zijn ze voorzien van een lang handvat dat spits toeloopt en waarvan de functie nog onderwerp van discussie is. Ze worden gebruikt om stukjes theeblad en stofdeeltjes weg te scheppen van het oppervlak in een kop thee. Gebruik 'olijflepels' voor lepels met doorboorde kom die specifiek zijn bedoeld voor het opdienen van olijven. 
German ..... Löffel in der Größe eines Teelöffels, der eine perforierte Laffe in einem dekorativen Muster und einen langen Griff mit einem zugespitzten Ende besitzt. Die Laffe des Teesieblöffels wird genutzt, um Tee zu seihen und Blattteile von der Oberfläche einer Tasse Tee auszusieben. Der dünne spitze Griff wird genutzt, um eine verstopfte Tülle einer Kanne zu reinigen. Für Löffel von ähnlicher Größe mit einer perforierten Laffe, aber ohne zugespitzten Griff, der insbesondere genutzt wird, um Oliven zu servieren, nutze "Olivenlöffel".
