Verwijst naar de kunststijl die werd geproduceerd in het enorme gebied dat zich uitstrekt van het noorden van de Zwarte Zee tot aan China, en dat wordt geassocieerd met krijgshaftige nomadische groepen uit het eerste millennium v. Chr. De stijl kenmerkt zich door uitwisselingen met Thracische, Iraanse, Hellenistische en Centraal-Aziatische kunst, en werd vooral gebruikt voor geciseleerd en gebosseleerd metaalwerk. |
