|
Note: Chairs having a seat that is a shaped and contoured plank drilled with sockets on the upper and lower surfaces to anchor the back and undercarriage and having the rear legs and a back that are separate rather than continuous members. The elements of the back are vertical, horizontal, or curved, and spindles may or may not be present. Chairs using bentwood back frame and legs pegged directly into the seat instead of being framed with aprons. The style is so named for chairs originating around Windsor Castle in England between 1700 and 1725, and was made by wheelwrights or turners, rather than cabinetmakers.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 椅座之造型輪廓經過特別設計的椅子，構成椅座之木板上、下表面皆鑽有插口，可供固定椅背與椅子底架，後方椅腳與椅背各自獨立而非一體成型的構件。椅背構件可能是垂直、水平，或者呈弧形，部份椅背上可能具有紡錘狀木條。曲木製椅背框和椅腳是直接釘固於椅座上，不以椅裙連接。此種風格源自西元1700至1725年間於英國溫莎城堡附近製作的椅子，此種椅子是由車輪修造工或者是車工所製作，並非出自家具工匠之手。 |
| Dutch ..... Stoelen waarbij de zitting bestaat uit een bewerkte plank waarbij holtes in het bovenste en onderste oppervlak zijn geboord om de achterkant en het onderstel te verankeren. De achterpoten en de rugleuning staan los van elkaar in plaats van dat ze een doorlopend geheel vormen. De elementen van de rugleuning zijn verticaal, horizontaal of gebogen en spijlen kunnen een onderdeel van de stoel vormen. |

Stuhl mit einer Sitzfläche, die aus einem geformten und gewölbten Brett besteht, mit eingebohrten Fassungen auf der Ober- und Unterseite, um die Rückenlehne und das Untergestell zu fixieren. Seine hinteren Beine und die Rückenlehne sind eher separat als verbunden. Die Teile der Rückenlehne sind vertikal, horizontal oder gebogen und ggf. mit Streben versehen. Es ist ein Stuhl, der einen gebogenen Rückenrahmen und Füße direkt in die Sitzfläche gesteckt hat, anstatt mit Zargen zusammengesetzt zu sein. Dieser Stil ist benannt nach Stühlen, die aus der Gegend rund um Windsor Castle in England zwischen 1700 und 1725 stammen. Der Stuhl wurde eher von Stellmachern oder Drehern statt von Möbelschreinern hergestellt. |
