Note: Dolls with heads, and often necks, hands, feet, and occasionally the body, made of unglazed porcelain; produced since the mid-19th century. They are distinguished from glazed porcelain dolls in that the cheeks, eyes, and lips have color fired onto the bisque, however, the skin area is largely unglazed, producing a velvety surface that resembles natural skin more closely than shiny glazed porcelain dolls.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor poppen die hoofdzakelijk van ongeglazuurd porselein zijn gemaakt; ze worden vervaardigd sinds halverwege de 19e eeuw. 
German ..... Spielzeugpuppe, deren Kopf, oftmals auch Hals, Hände und Füße und zuweilen sogar der gesamte Körper aus unglasiertem Porzellan besteht. Anders als bei einer Puppe aus glasiertem Porzellan werden bei ihr die Augen, Wangen und Lippen vor dem Brennprozess eingefärbt, während die Hautpartien überwiegend unglasiert sind. Dadurch entsteht eine samtene Oberfläche, die der menschlichen Haut stärker ähnelt als der Glanz von Porzellanpuppen. 
Spanish ..... Úsese para muñecas hechas principalmente de porcelana sin satinar; producidas desde mediados del siglo XIX.
