Note: Fencing swords, lighter than épées, having a light, very flexible, quadrangular blade with a button on the end, generally used for practice or for recreational and competitive fencing. Since the 1930s, the button has been made as a spring-loaded contact device acting on pressure to score hits by means of electrical signals. Formerly, the term was used for all swords with blunted points. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 擊劍活動使用的劍,比銳劍輕巧,具有輕盈、非常具彈性的四邊形劍刃,尾端裝有一個釦狀物,通常是用來練習,或進行娛樂性、競賽性的擊劍。自一九三○年代起,劍上的釦狀物開始改裝成內含彈簧的接觸裝置,受到壓力就會起作用,藉由電子信號傳輸計算進攻之得分。在過去,該詞彙是用來指稱所有鈍端的劍。 |

Spanish ..... Espadas de esgrima, más livianas que las espadas de duelo, consistentes en una hoja cuadrangular liviana y muy flexible con un botón en el extremo inferior, generalmente usadas para practicar esgrima o para esgrima de recreación o competición. Desde los años 30 del siglo pasado, el botón se ha confeccionado como un dispositivo de contacto provisto de un resorte que se activa por presión para marcar los golpes por medio de señales eléctricas.
