Dutch ..... Stoelen die vaak zijn gestoffeerd, een volledige beensteun en meestal armleuningen hebben en zijn ontworpen om in te luieren. Gebruik 'ligstoelen' voor soortgelijke stoelen die buiten worden gebruikt. 
German ..... Mit C. [franz.: "langer Stuhl"] bezeichnet man ein aus dem Sessel entwickeltes schmales, fest gepolstertes Ruhemöbel, das durch die Verlängerung der Sitzfläche eine halb sitzende, halb liegende Körperhaltung ermöglicht. Sie ist meist einheitlich mit Leder oder Stoff bezogen. Der Begriff ersetzte im späten 18. Jahrhundert den älteren „Lit de jour“, zu Deutsch: „Tagesbett“. Seit ca. 1870 weist es ein erhöhtes Kopfende auf. Eine Vorform der Chaiselongue war die Kombination eines gepolsterten Stuhls mit einem ebenso hohen Hocker, auf dem die Beine horizontal ruhen konnten. Die C. besitzt Rücken- und bis zu zwei Armlehnen. Die Ansetzung des Begriffs im Deutschen ist in Bearbeitung. Quelle für Definition wäre zu ergänzenPluralformen de ergänzt [JL]. Stuhl, häufig gepolstert, mit einem Beinteil in voller Länge und in der Regel Armlehnen, für eine Person zum darauf Liegen bestimmt. Für einen ähnlichen Stuhl, der für den Gebrauch im Freien vorgesehen ist, ist „Liegestuhl“ zu verwenden. 
Spanish ..... Sillas, a menudo tapizadas, que tienen un asiento de largo completo y normalmente brazos, diseñadas para arrellanarse. Para sillas parecidas usadas al aire libre use "tumbona”.
