Note: Refers to the architectural style associated with the fifth of the traditional five classical orders of architecture, that also include Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, and Tuscan. It is characterized by the merging of Ionic and Corinthian stylistic elements, particularly in the capital where the Ionic volute and the Corinthian acanthus leaves are combined to create a more lavish whole. The shaft of the column may be fluted or plain. The style probably originated in the Augustine period, was fully developed in the later Roman Colosseum around 80 CE, and was used through the Renaissance and beyond. For the assemblage forming associated columns, use "Composite order."

Verwijst naar de bouwkundestijl die wordt geassocieerd met de vijfde van de vijf traditionele klassieke bouwordes in de architectuur waartoe ook de Dorische, Ionische, Corinthische en Toscaanse stijl behoren. Deze stijl kenmerkt zich door het samengaan van Ionische en Corinthische stijlelementen, in het bijzonder in het kapiteel waar de Ionische voluut en de Corinthische acanthusbladeren gecombineerd worden om een meer overdadig geheel te creëren. De schacht van de zuil kan gecanneleerd of vlak zijn. De stijl stamt waarschijnlijk uit de Augustijnse periode, kwam tot volle wasdom in het Romeinse Colosseum (circa 80 n. Chr.) en is toegepast tot na de Renaissance. De term is te onderscheiden van de term 'composiete orde', aangezien een bouworde slechts kan verwijzen naar het specifieke samenstel van onderdelen dat moet voldoen aan eenduidige, vastgelegde regels en verhoudingen, afhankelijk van de functie van elk onderdeel in het geheel. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere al estilo arquitectónico asociado con el quinto de los cinco órdenes clásicos tradicionales de arquitectura que también incluye el Dórico, Jónico, Corintio y Toscano. Se caracteriza por la fusión de elementos estilísticos Jónicos y Corintios, particularmente en el capitel donde se combina el espiral Jónico y las hojas de acanto corintias para crear un conjunto más pomposo. El fuste de la columna puede ser acanalado o liso. El estilo que probablemente se originó en el período Augustino, se desarrolló totalmente más tarde en el Coliseo Romano alrededor del 80 d.C. y se usó a través de todo el Renacimiento y más allá. Se diferencia del "Orden Compuesto," ya que un orden arquitectónico se refiere estrictamente al sistema específico o ensamblaje de partes que está sujeto a reglas y proporciones establecidas uniformes, reguladas por el papel que cada parte tiene que desempeñar. |
