Dutch ..... Hout van de boom behorende tot het genus Betula lenta, inheems in de zuidelijke Appalachen. Het lijkt op yellow birch en commercieel wordt er geen onderscheid gemaakt tussen de twee. Suikerberkenhout heeft echter een hogere densiteit en is dieper van kleur. Het hout wordt gebruikt voor het maken van fineer, vloeren, meubilair, deuren, triplex en voertuigonderdelen. |
Spanish ..... Madera del árbol perteneciente a la especie Betula lenta, nativa de los Apalaches Meridionales. Es similar al abedul amarillo y no se le diferencia comercialmente, pero es más densa y de color más profundo. Se utiliza en la fabricación de chapas, pisos, muebles, puertas, madera contrachapada y piezas de vehículos. |
