Southern California's premier Baroque ensemble and acclaimed soprano Ellen Hargis presents a musical Grand Tour through Europe around 1760 to complement the exhibition Grecian Taste and Roman Spirit: The Society of Dilettanti.

About Ellen Hargis

Praised as "a national musical treasure" by Continuo magazine, Ellen Hargis has built a remarkable career specializing in 17th- and 18th-century music. She has appeared with many of the foremost period music conductors of the world and performed on a wide variety of outstanding recordings, including as Aeglé in Lully's Thésée and as Queen Pasiphae in Conradi's Ariadne, both of which were nominated for Grammy awards. Her recording of Tristan et Iseult with the Boston Camerata won the Grand Prix du Disque, France's premier prize for musical recordings. Hargis has previously performed with Musica Angelica, singing Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas to widespread acclaim.
