The J. Paul Getty Museum Journal is a compendium of articles and notes pertaining to the Museum’s three collections—Greek and Roman antiquities, European paintings, and French decorative arts. The first two issues deal solely with antiquities and are intended as a tribute to Bernard Ashmole. This volume includes a note by J. Paul Getty and essays by John Boardman, Dietrich von Bothmer, Rainer Berger and Reiner Protsch, Joseph Breslin, Elizabeth Trimble Buckley, Brian F. Cook, Erna Diez, Michael M.
