World Music at the Getty features two evenings of world music at the Getty Center this October, with performances by Durfee Master Musician Fellows.
All performances take place in the Harold M. Williams Auditorium at the Getty Center. Parking is free after 5:00 p.m.

Tzvetanka Varimezova, Ivan Varimezov and Nevenka East European Folk Ensemble

Vocalist Tzvetanka Varimezova and her husband, gaida (bagpipe) player Ivan Varimezov, are among America's most celebrated proponents of Bulgarian music. The two Durfee Master Musician Fellows will join forces with Nevenka East European Folk Ensemble for a special presentation that takes us from the lowlands of the Danube to the heart of Los Angeles.

Mani Bolouri

Mani Bolouri is a composer and virtuoso player of the kamancheh (spiked fiddle) and gheychak (bowed fiddle). Since moving from Tehran to Los Angeles in 2004, he has become best known for his work with Liän Ensemble. In a special program featuring traditional and original music, the Durfee Master Musician Fellow will draw upon his Armenian and Persian roots.
