Beloved theatrical group The Troubies celebrate the reopening of the Getty Villa by paying homage to a treacherous, tumultuous journey of pitfalls and perils. No, not the 405 on a Friday...but Homer's Odyssey. The twelve-thousand-one-hundred-and-ten-line epic poem will be about twelve-thousand lines short. It's a speedy, twelve-minute comedic opera buffa performed al fresco to give guests direct access to the actors! Take pictures with the cast following each performance or with individual characters at 11:45 a.m. and 2:35 p.m.
Play-Doh PlayTime: 11:30 a.m.3:30 p.m.

What if Plato played with Play-Doh? In this free, drop-in family workshop, create play-dough sculptures inspired by art in the Getty Villa. Add to a communal sculpture and make your own play-dough to take home. This is a recurring program that runs in April, May, and June.

In Homer's Odyssey, Circe was a magical being famous for her knowledge of plants and her herbal potions that transformed people into animals. Explore the Villa Herb Garden with your family, then drop in to learn about ancient herbs and make seed balls to grow your own mini-garden at home!
