Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Getty Center, Harold M. Williams Auditorium
Photographer Robert Weingarten explores the progression of photography through three of his projects. He examines the fidelity of film to record nature, digital imaging to achieve abstraction, and the use of metaphor as portrait through digital composition. He discusses what was lost and gained in this transition from film to digital, and how his art evolved as he embraced the changes. About Robert Weingarten: Despite a lifelong passion for photography, Robert Weingarten did not commit himself fully to the medium until he was 54, following a career in finance. His work is in numerous collections, including the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has been exhibited worldwide.
