Past Event

When director Francis Ford Coppola read Mario Puzo's bestselling novel The Godfather, he knew his first impressions and ideas would serve as the foundation for his celebrated Godfather films. Now, more than 40 years later, Coppola shares the The Godfather Notebook he kept while writing the screenplay, casting, and directing 1972's best picture, The Godfather. Join film critic Elvis Mitchell, host of KCRW's "The Treatment," as he talks with Coppola about the creation of what is widely considered to be one of the greatest films ever made. Hear how Coppola realized his vision for the trilogy, including how the extraordinary cast came together.

Following the discussion, a limited number of books purchased at the event will be signed, and guests will enjoy a reception featuring wines from the Coppola winery.
