On January 5, 2010, the Getty Leadership Institute (GLI) moved to Claremont Graduate University (CGU), supported by a three-year, $2.2 million grant from the Getty Foundation in Los Angeles. The Institute will now be known as The Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University (GLI at CGU). CGU is generously underwriting GLI's indirect costs. GLI at CGU is an independent Institute reporting to the President and operating with the advice and counsel of a committee that includes the deans of the Drucker Business School and Arts and Humanities School. Full press release.
During its 25 year association with the Getty, GLI has continually sought out new ideas and opportunities, and the move to CGU will allow GLI to expand and thrive as a leading international source of continuing professional development for current and future museum leaders in the context of a very special and distinguished institution of higher education.
