A teacher paints a work of art during a hands-on workshop.

This three-and-a-half day program introduces secondary-level teachers of literature, social sciences, and other humanities-based disciplines to art and artists from the Getty Museum's collection. While the theme of the institute varies from year to year, each program consists of lectures, discussions of relevant literature, and smaller-group seminars led by scholars, curators, or educators. Teachers are guided by education staff to develop arts-integrated lessons that may be posted on this site.

This program was eliminated in 2012.
