Re: Thanksgiving ideas

I also use a Thanksgiving table setting. Norman Rockwell, two
visuals..."Grace" is one, and I forget the other. It is a nice way to warm
up to one point perspective, in that students create a looong table and set
it up with allkinds of food and cutlery and so on. "I am thankful for..." is
the heading, and students fill in the rest of the sentence.
For grades 2-3, you can look at Jacob Lawrence's "The Last Supper" and talk
about what we are thankful about; have students brainstorm ideas and write
them on board or flip chart. Students can create their own work of art
depicting what they are thankful for.
