Hi--

I've actually done this before, but can't remember how!!

I'll be doing sandpainting with my 5th/6th graders as part of a unit on
Native American art. The colored sand from suppliers is more $$ than I'd
care to spend and I know it's possible to get sort of pastel colored sand by
mixing white (play) sand with tempera. I think you mix it with powdered
tempera in a ziplock bag and shake it up, but I remember using liquid
tempera one time and having to spread it out to dry.

Given that my mind is mush-like at the moment, can someone help me out by
telling me the best way to color white sand??

Thanks!

Sharon
