just to throw in the other side for you, i teach half time, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in a well equipped double room with full sized
potter's wheel and kiln,separate sink (and locking supply) room, lots of windows and my clock works. (many in the building don't)
there are aprox. 100 students per grade level and i get $2500.per year for supplies. they gave me an EXTRA $2000. for a computer
with scanner, digital camera, and some software this year to accommodate nystate standards. our district is not without its
problems, but art classes are never one of them. i am the most grateful art teacher in the world!!
