A 100% sure to succeed project:

Get cartoons from newspaper: prefer color and cut individual frames out. Have
a pile of these ready for those hungry art students to devour in seconds.

Enlarge cartoons and use dots to color. Keep to black white red blue primary
colors.
Be sure to carefully teach how to draw a grid on the cartoon and see each
square in terms of proportional lines to transfer into larger boxes they make
on 11x17" paper, same number of boxes of course on large paper as small.
