You don't actually LEARN words in the art room, do you?

Fellow art folk,
I have wanted to do this for two years, but finallly got "around to it"
this year.(with the help of a super student teacher). Our district "suggests"
that every classroom teacher have a "WORD WALL".(At least in the elementary
schools) If you are unfamilair with this... It is the alphabet posted around
your room (bullletin board, wall, etc.) leaving space to add vocabulary
building words as the class learn them..... Well, I wanted one for my room
and got it up and it is GREAT.... You have the words visible and ready to
point to again and again. We velcroed them to laminated colorful construction
pieces, so you can actaully take the word off and hold it up...... The word
wall takes up one whole side of the room - but WORTHWHILE.
School has been in session for only three weeks - but the kids already vie to
add words to the wall and to recognize words that we are using......
We are out of school today (Wed.) and tomorrow due to Mr. Floyd Hurricane.....
So Sign me,
"Hanging on to my hat in South Carolina"
