I am going to start off my semester of ceramics having the students
create tiles. My difficulty is that I am in a new job at a large
district and am required (for the present time) to use whatever supplies
the "pre-existing" five teachers are gracious enough to share with me
until I get to place my own order. (BTW, they have been WONDERFUL
sharing space, information, supplies, so I am not complaining. I just
don't want to over do it.) So anyway, onto the question....
After I make the tiles with the students, what can I do to "finish the
artwork"....meaning, I would like to install them or mount them (correct
word?) individually, somehow. I want to have to students create 2 tiles
that fit together as one continuous "scene"/ artwork and have them hang
on a wall. Now I have never done it myself, but know it is possible.
If necessary, I am willing to supplement the project with some of my own
money. I just dont want these "random" tiles floating around and the
students dont know what to do with them; therefore, they end up broken
and in the garbage. I want them to be presented well.
Thanks in advane for all advice/ideas. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
