Hello.( I am developing a curriculum for HS Basic Art, Art I and Art II-III.
(By the way I am a first year teacher who was left with NOTHING! Not a
curriculum or a lesson plan or anything from last year!) I have Betty
Edward's book along with many great lessons to choose from.(won 200 lessons
at the national convention and also read all of my Arts and Activities and
School Arts mags.) I need help putting everything in order so that the
program is sequential. 2D, Drawing, painting, mixed media, etc. Then moving
on to 3D, etc. Included are a few large units based on Judy Chicago's "How
to host a dinner party" and a cultural unit. My students are also painting a
mural in the cafeteria and the doors of each room. (In each lesson I try to
add a little art history/criticism.) How does this sound? Am I on the right
track? Is there something/someone/or some book that has a DBAE approach that
can help me? I made it through my first week and have an outline of my first
9 weeks, but I am afraid I am going to run out of lessons!!!!! Please help.
