I tried something new this year for Parent Information Night. I wrote the
name of an item that I need for supplies on a small brown paper lunch bag. I
made up over 100 bags. If the parents were interested they could take a bag
or two. I asked that they return the bag when they get a chance with the item
in the bag. My budget is ok, but I hate spending it on Sharpies, Hairspray
for Pastels, Plastic bags for ceramics...all those types of things. In two
days time...I have filled my bucket full of sponges, I have plenty of plastic
ziplocks for ceramics, Several Sharpies, etc etc. I only have about 20% of
the bags returned. Several put more then one in the bag.
I think when I get a new group of students in 12 or 24 weeks, I just might
send the bag home with them and see if I get a response...it may be easier
when there is are less expenses going on with the beginning of school.
