THE ONSLAUGHT of Silicon Valley is more like an invasion than a war.
Everyone is getting into the act, but where's the meat?Talk about
"networking"? Design is more to the point.

One would think that companies selling on the web would hire visual arts
graphic designers? Who ever brought "wallpaper" backgrounds onto the net
should be shredded along with those who blatantly misuse typography and text

Those of you who instruct in computer departments may want to subscribe to
U&l. it's free and well worth the effort in an attempt to clean up current
web page design.

PARDOXICALLY, it is amazing to see the abuse and misuse of the basic
principles and elements of visual design - utterly ignored by those who
profess to be visual artists. Perhaps, this is the time to introduce
"typography" into, at least, the secondary level curriculum?
