Our school went on block scheduling five years ago. I think it is
marvelous, and an excellent reason to stay where I am and never even consider
moving to another school. We have time to look at a video clip, introduce
and work on a related lesson and critique the students' work all during the
same class. Or we can walk to a nearby gallery to see an exhibit. Or take
cameras out to photograph ideas for future lessons. I could go on and on.
If your school even remotely considers block scheduling, you should lend the
idea strong support. I wish you the best of luck.
