Hi again,

Sorry to come in at the end of a conversation and ask for it to be repeated,
but i just joined the list about...oh...2 hours ago.

Who is Fred Babb and what is the book about? I looked at it but could not get
enough info. to decide if it was only appropriate for younger students. I am
teaching high school; would it be approriate for that level?

Thank you,
LynnMarie

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your suggestions on creative sayings for my new art room. I
have ordered the Fred Babb book from Barnes and Noble. Your ideas were all
great.

I was dissappointed to find out during orietation that the art room hasn't
even been started yet. All other teachers, have priority. It is the usual
attitude. . . the math teachers with a class of 10 students need huge rooms
to teach math in. Reading specialists that work with 1 to 2 students at a
time need their rooms first. I teach 18-24 kids at a time and have tons of
stuff. They have put me in the corner of an "L" shaped life science room
that has no electricity and is still under construction. This is just an
area for me to " hang my hat." I am to work out of cardboard boxes and a
cart and go from room to room. ( no elevator yet ). I am to teach middle
school kids on the patio and grass because none of the middle school teachers
want to share their room with me during art. ( elementary teachers are going
to accomodate me) . I was so excited to get going with my new room, clever
posters and my Harry Wong , "First Days of School attitude". Trying to
remain possitive still but. . . . slipping gradually. I have still been
promised an art room but don't know when. They are 2 mil. over budget
already.
Ok, enough of that!
I have been asked to have some of the classes paint murals on the grey block
walls that surround a playground area. Anyone familiar with this kind of
project? What kind of paint and sealer would I need to use to ensure weather
and time? Would I prime the block walls with something special? Thank you
everyone in advance. Laraine
