The Art Teacher's curse has to be standing, running and just being on
your feet all day. In the long run, it doesn't seem to matter what
surface is on the floor. In regards to art room floors, often one
has to take what one is given. After 23 years of actively teaching
on my feet, my feet gave up. I now wear orthotics; a hi-tech,
engineered insert in my shoes. I highly recommend them for every
teacher! They run about $300 for the first pair, which should last
ten years. Within five days of wearing these things, my feet
stopped aching!! It was worth every dollar!!
Just my two cents worth...
23 years on cement, rugs, floors, blacktop, gym floors, etc...
