I did the Picasso upside-down drawing with sixth graders last week and they
loved it. Students who normally are not as confident in art class as others
were noticeably excited about the project. This week we are going to try the
positive-negative space one. I'm not sure if I want to attempt the chairs
with them or try something different. I have done the Picasso one before with
sixth graders, but never the other one. These exercises are great lead ins
for other drawing lessons where they observe what they draw.
