PS--Kathy, didn't mean to send this just to you--I wanted to send it to the
list. Sorry.

Hey, I enjoyed these contests when I was in grade school! (Not the ones where
you had to color in a pre-existing coloring page though--YUCK!--we got that
every year--BORING!) I don't see why these poster design contests should be
avoided. They certainly should not be used as part of the curriculum, but as
an aside, I don't see why you wouldn't offer this to students who might be
interested.
