I have started out teaching my middle schoolers about the face. I wanted
them to start with more analytical anotomy type drawings and then work
into a creative project. We have studied the skull, the muscles, front
and side views of the face and will do eyes, nose, mouth, and ears next
week. Then we will stop for review and taking of 6 week test. On the
Monday of the 2nd 6 weeks (I work at a year round school). I want to do
a different creative project with each of my classes where they can
incorporate all the techniques they learned their own way. Some of my
ideas were Fauvist Countour project where they will use modge podge and
tissue paper to and fauvist color, clay masks, clay heads (not sure how
to do this), small sculpty heads, paper head sculptures, maybe even wire
Any ideas you have about good head projects which all the students to be
creative. I have a week to figure this out.
Thanks in advance. Teresa Sheffey, El Paso
