Hi Debra,
I think it's hard for all of us to be realistic about our improvement.
If you have the kids do a sample, or baseline drawing--sort of a pre-test,
they'll have a basis for comparison when they finish the unit. I think
that drawing faces, then learning to draw portraits, is a real eye
opener. Do you have Betty Edwards books? She has some stunning examples.
