The line:

"This kind of kid LOVES it when they get on your nerves!"

has a lot of insight.... so, how do we ignore the negative behavior, and
yet give the very needy kid the attention they crave?
If possible,give them only positive feedback. Make them a special "job"
so they feel empowered... those are a few things that sometimes defuse
kids in my classes (grades 3-5). I know, Middle School is Hormonally
challenged though... the mid school teachers I know who like it are the
ones who can laugh along with the kids. (I am not sure I would survive)
