When I asked my principal about the noise level in the art room with Middle
Schoolers, she said that's just a noisy age. Just as long as they are
reaching objectives and work is being accomplished, it should be OK.
Shesaid it sounded like a "teacher annoyance thing" and to compare the
difference between what would be MY annoyance at noise and the actual
situation. I discovered it is me, because I think better with "quiet". Now I
keep it to a dull roar...I have a 12" rule. Their voices should not carry over
a foot. So if I hear them, it is too loud.
