SOFTWARE FOR JR.COMPUTER LAB. We have been using Claris 4.0 and 3.0 for
the last 2 years. Several reasons why:1)computer teachers use Claris as
the main teaching software 2)great program for building confidence
3)easy to intergrate other graphics 4)good stepping block to photoshop
and other more involved programs 5)helps students be more creative in
other school projects 6) easier to teach art diciplines through a
program that at least 1/2 of our students are currently using for all
other subjects.7)it's so easy to jump from one application to another
within Claris.
The reasons listed above are just a few. I have been very happy with
Claris as a beginning teaching tool. At mid year I plan to introduce the
scanner, Photoshop and Illustrator to my 8th graders. My 7th graders we
will introduce creative projects with video and quick take cameras.
I was very pleased that the present 8th graders seem to have retained a
great deal of information from 7th grade. We are working at a much
higher level of creativity.
I feel very confident that this approach will prepare the students for
the new computer graphics program our high school is just creating.
Really look at Claris. It's a great starting place!
(I have been ready artednet for about a year. I read your note and I
just wanted to have a little imput. Hope it well help you. Good luck)
