Education Through the Arts: The John Biggers - Viktor Lowenfeld
Connection." This symposium for educators will be held on
Saturday, September 20, at Hampton University in Hampton,
Virginia, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm in Ogden Hall and the Hampton
This occasion marks the final venue for John Biggers'
retrospective "The Art of John Biggers: View from the Upper
Speakers include Dr .Biggers, Dr. Barry Gaither, Dr. Robert
Farris Thompson, Dr. Alvia Wardlaw, Dr. Harlan Hoffa,Dr. Carol
Hubbard, Dr. Jeff Donaldson, Jeanne Zeidler, Janet Payne, and James
Biggers. I will be "unveiling" the introduction to the ArtsEdNet online
exhibition and discussion on Dr. Biggers.
Registration ($30 includes lunch and exhibition preview
reception) for the symposium will begin at 9:00 a.m. in
Ogden Hall on the Hampton University campus. Presentations will
given throughout the day, followed by an evening lecture and the
opening and reception for the exhibition in the Museum.
This is a wonderful opportunity to view and learn about Biggers' work and
meet and listen to this thoughtful and talented artist.
