Thanks so much for your insightful comments r.e. how you run your
elementary classes. I totally agree with how you start your 1-2 grade
classes with discussions about art history, prints, etc. I teach K-1 grade
art, and I, too, gather the children on the floor for a discussion that is
a good 15-20 minutes. Yes, they DO love to think about and talk about art.
I have a 45 minute time frame and would love to have more time.
Thanks for your comments about the "praise, question, propose" method of
critiquing. That part of the class has been the most difficult for me. I,
too, read about this on the listserve, but haven't tried it. I think I'm
ready to give it a try.
