Charles,
That is a Big question but one we all have a responsibility to. My
first thoughts reflect on Goals 2000; the ideals of the National
Standards in Visual Art; Performance-Based Assessment of teachers
(National Board for Professional Teaching Standards - EAYA/Art...& the
standards supporting this assessment) and of students which attempts to
measure subjective learning; leading to assessments such as the
"Graduation Project" (which we are beginning to pilot in our school
system and will be required by the Class of 2000).
