I am ashamed to admit it, but I loved making salt maps for my social studies
classes when I was a kid. We never did it for art class... but in retrospect,
I was applying many of the skills learned in art class....
Guess I have a different perspective on integration of Academics and Art...
I was put in a First gradeclassroom for 5 years before an art teaching job
opened up for me here.
This leads to something I have wondered for a while. Do any preservice art ed
programs have students do an intensive internship in the regular classroom for
elementary art degrees?
I can only speak for myself... it really helps me enrich my program.
