After doing this for a long time, I think that "teaching" needs to be
redefined. I am a facilitator. I am also a student. I also share
knowledge that I have gained by virtue of the fact that I have been on
the planet longer than my students, have failed many times, and have
experienced many things. I am in constant flux. I am continuously
learning. I learn from my students. I am not afraid to say I don't
know. Nor am I afraid to say "try this, and let's see what happens". I
have been indoctrinated with the language of form. I can look at a slide
of an artist and know who painted it, and am always amazed that I know.
I can talk the talk, and have walked the walk. I sign my work San D, so
that my gender is not evident. I do unto others no less than I would
want done to me. I am a teacher of art.
