Dia de los Muertos is Nov. 1. We make skeletons out
of paper strips and dress them up. We also set up
a big alter in the front display area of our
school that honored people that the students knew
who had died, unfortunately b/c of gangs we have had
several students and former students killed, and
this has become part of our greaving process, and we
talk alot about how to honor and remember them
w/out glorifying their gang activity etc....I really
don't have time to elaborate right now, I have class
at 6, but email me if y'all want more details.

Also if anyone is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area the
Fort Worth Modern Art museum has a huge fiesta on
Day of the Dead w/ a big display every year. they
also have an educational packet that you can order
that contains a bunch of slides, and explains all
the traditions.
