Broken Crayons

Brenda, at the end of the year I always save the old broken crayons that
the children throw away and have the kids make encaustic paintings.
I have two old (warming trays) and the kids place their drawing paper on
top of the warming tray which is set to low and while they draw and color
with crayons they seem to melt right before their eyes. The fifth graders
loved this project. Its alot safer than using a candle to melt the
